Should pastors be permanently banned from the pulpit if they commit adultery? That was a key question in a recent LifeWay Research survey of 1,000 Protestant preachers and ministers, with just 24 percent of pastors supporting a “permanent withdrawal from public ministry” for those found guilty of such a moral infraction.

Did God allow former murders assume the lead in ministries …. David …Moses …Saul of tarsus … the real Question is ..under what conditions and requirements may he re-enter the ministry …the bible does give some indications one of the first and most important is ..is there a true repentance and contriteness …. and there should be some review and involvement of elders …
Is that the unforgivable sin? I guess what Jesus did on the cross is not enough if one truly repents, you feel the need to add something to His sacrifice to make it effective. There is a word for that type of thing, and you are not going to like it. That sin is no worse than what you still look the other way on for yourself. All, not just some, have fallen short. All will continue to fall short in some ways on this side of forever. Pastors are just folks, and have the same flaws as the rest of us.
In total agreement! God’s messege is about forgiveness and grace! Yes there are repercussions and a great price to pay but adultrery will take you to the same hell as robbery and lying which plenty of wayword pastors have also been guilty of!
