The Aliso Canyon gas well blowout was the largest methane leak in U.S. history, releasing over 90,000 tonnes (100,000 tons) of gas into the air. It belched methane into the sky over Los Angeles for 16 weeks straight until it was finally plugged on February 11. Now, a new worry, this time stretching the length of the San Andreas Fault line. On February 27th enormous amounts of Carbon Monoxide leaked into the atmosphere along the West coast of America see above…it’s the amount of Carbon Monoxide which is simply stunning.

It is well understood that large amounts of Carbon Monoxide is released into the atmosphere before an earthquake, however the amount of Carbon Monoxide release on the 27th of Feb is as far as I can tell unprecedented.
