Bumble Bee Foods has issued a nationwide recall of 31,579 cases of its 5oz canned Chunk Light Tuna due to “spoilage organisms or pathogens” that could lead to serious illness. The recall comes after the company detected improper sterilization at a third-party packing facility. It affects cases of tuna produced in February and refers to specific batch codes.
“The recall is being initiated out of an abundance of caution due to the possible under-processing of the affected products,” said Bumble Bee in its product recall notice. “Bumble Bee is working closely with the co-packer and the FDA to expedite the removal of products from commerce.” READ MORE
