(Ricky Scaparo) “Isaiah 58:8 – Then your light shall break forth like the morning”
One of the blessings of a consecrated fast to the Lord is a sharper discernment and deeper revelation in areas we haven’t previously experienced in times past. In the verse above the Lord says our “Light” shall “Break Forth” like the morning. The term “Light” is in relation to the “breaking of dawn” or “light of day”. The term “Break Forth” here is regarding a breakthrough or Break Open!
There are many who have been walking in seasons of darkness and groping in the dark, wondering from place to place and never able to get any clarity or direction. Seasons of wandering in the wilderness as one with no compass. However the scripture tells us that one of the things “Prayer and Fasting” can achieve is breaking forth light or revelation in areas of darkness we need to be illuminated! The picture here is like one surrounded by clouds of darkness when suddenly a burst of sunlight breaks forth through the clouds. One of my favorite passages in the bible displays a great picture of this: Proverbs 4:18 (NLT) – The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day.
It’s time stop groping in darkness and wandering in seasons of uncertainty. Let’s continue to press in and anticipate the breaking of dawn, the breaking forth of fresh revelation and illumination to the paths the Lord has for us this year!
