Do you want to know what your purpose is in life? Then tell me who your enemies are. A person with no enemies is a person with no destiny! Your enemies fear you at the place of your destiny. Do you want to know where your destiny meets your opportunity? Listen to your enemies; they know your purpose better than you know it. Let me be clear, your enemies don’t necessarily fear your strength; instead, they tend to fear you at your place of purpose.

Gideon is a great example of this. God called him to lead a small troop of 300 men against a large and powerful Midian army. But Gideon was terrified. So God told him to go down to the enemy’s camp and listen to what they were saying about him. Here’s the account: “Gideon came and overheard one man who was telling his dream to another. The man said, ‘Listen to a dream I had. I saw a dry cake of barley bread rolling into the Midianite camp. It rolled up to a tent and struck it. It fell, turned upside down, and collapsed.’ The other man responded, ‘This is none other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash the Israelite. God has given Midian and the whole camp into his hands.’ When Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshipped, returned to the camp of Israel, and said, ‘Get up, for the Lord has given the Midianite camp into your hands'” (Judg. 7:13-15).
