mniPalestinian supporters unfurled a large flag on the Manhattan Bridge during a solidarity march in Lower Manhattan Wednesday night. The flag, reading “Gaza, Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions,” was hanging on the south side of the bridge so marchers on the Brooklyn Bridge could see it. “Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions” was a pro-Palestinian campaign that started in 2005 to increase economic and political pressure on Israel. Marchers were protesting Israel’s treatment of the Palestinian people. They marched from Cadman Plaza over the Brooklyn Bridge and to a rally at 1 Police Plaza.
