Soul-Survivor-main_article_imageChristian Friends of Israel says it’s ‘shocked and saddened’ after an offer to exhibit at the festival Momentum was withdrawn.

The event run by church group Soul Survivor is due to take place later this month in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. Thousands who attend will hear from a range of speakers and worship leaders and also get the chance to learn about a host of charities and organisations. Soul Survivor says the Toolshed is “where delegates can find out about opportunities to serve, learn more about the Christian resources available and make a difference in the wider world.” The resource area was due to include a stall by Christian Friends of Israel but the charity’s told Premier it’s been banned from exhibiting because of concerns it could stir up controversy over the conflict in Gaza. Director Jacob Vince expressed his disappointment: “I can understand they might feel that – it wouldn’t be us seeking to do that. “I do appreciate that people have quite strong views on the issues but we do try to provide the wider perspective rather than polarise the issue and hopefully that would come across.” Premier has contacted Soul Survivor and is waiting for a response.
