A major tornado outbreak has begun across Central and Northeastern Mississippi this afternoon, where the Storm Prediction Center has just issued a rare high risk of strong, long-track tornadoes. This is the same risk that was issued for the Little Rock area yesterday and is only issued once or twice per year on average. This includes Jackson, Columbus, Starkville, and Tupelo, MS, where a Particularly Dangerous Situation Tornado Watch has already been issued. A significant tornado threat does include portions of northeastern Louisiana, much of Mississippi, into northwest Alabama and southern Tennessee. More
