article-2253924-1400B7EB000005DC-151_634x440British government’s continuing cuts to social care budgets have left the elderly without vital help, a leading charity has warned. The Age UK charity warned in a report published on Thursday that more than 160,000 older people in Britain have stopped receiving help with essential tasks such as eating, washing and getting dressed as a result of social care cuts by the government. Moreover, it said that spending on social care for older people has fallen by 1.2 billion pounds since the coalition took office in 2010 despite significant increases in the number of people aged 65 and over in the country.
