Pittsburghers know all about the Raging Rapids – a Kennywood staple and a great way to cool off on those hot summer days.  Robert and Krystsina Trostle claim they rode the Raging Rapids on July 2, 2017, and days later, Robert had severe pain in his left eye and was diagnosed with microsporidia keratitis. Attorney Alan Perer is representing Robert and Kryststina Trostle.

“We’re certain that this is the cause. There was no other explanation. Water from this ride shot into his eye, which is part of this ride, the excitement and the fun of the ride,” said Perer. They allege in the lawsuit it was caused by the microsporidia parasite that was present in the water. “The water shot into his eye, and almost immediately thereafter, he started having these problems,” said Perer.
