(By Dr. Michael Brown) Yes, it would be wonderful if Jesus returned for His people next week, but it’s not going to happen. Count on it. The Second Coming will not take place this year on September 23. How can I be so sure? The Bible tells me so, and not in some ambiguous, mysterious language. Instead, Jesus told His followers what had to take place before He returned, and those things have not yet happened, nor can they happen in just a

What, then, do I think about the claims of Christian numerologist David Meade, who argues that “verses in Luke 21:25 to 26 are the sign that recent events, such as the recent solar eclipse and Hurricane Harvey, are signs of the apocalypse”? I’m sick and tired of hearing this every year about on a date this will happen or that will happen and it never does. I myself don’t pay any attention to this because another fear mongering.
First of all most of the teaching about the Revelation 12 sign does not say it is the 2nd coming. They talk about the rapture. The author of the article should get the facts straight befor he starts writing.
I think that it is important to understand that some Christians believe in a pre-tribulation rapture, and this is distinguished from Christ’s return at the end of the tribulation period. I have heard people speak generally about each subject and basically state the each event will occur simultaneously. I’ve heard some Christians say that they believe that the rapture is approaching soon, based on their understanding of the Word; they do not, however, equate this to Christ’s return at the end of the tribulation. It is not correct to assume that all Christians who believe in a pre-trib rapture also believe in Christ’s imminent return before all that He spoke of transpires.
