(By Kelly McDonald, Jr) A recent Washington Times piece reported that one of the greatest threats to Military Nuclear Facilities are drones. General John Hyten reported to the House Armed Services Committee that drones have recently penetrated the air space near US military nuclear facilities. Because drones can be small, they can go undetected and sneak onto top-secret bases to gather information or even carry out an attack.

This is a growing security concern. General Hyten reported that the military is presently considering several options. One option includes a special program that trains birds to attack drones that breach a certain area. There are presently at least eight military facilities under review for security upgrades. One can only hope that this area of vulnerability is cleared up soon.
