An Anglican pastor has been charged with criminal trespassing and now faces up to 90 days in prison and $400 fine for praying outside a Planned Parenthood clinic in November. Pastor James Linton maintains that his routine prayers outside a Planned Parenthood clinic in San Bernardino were entirely within his 1st Amendment rights, and that he violated no private property statutes. His lawyer, Allison Aranda of Life Legal Defense Foundation, asserts the arrest explicitly violates his constitutional rights.
“The arrest of Father Linton is an outrageous violation of his First Amendment rights,” stated Aranda. “Father Linton simply offered assistance and alternatives to its patrons that could save the lives of their precious babies.” Following his wife’s third pregnancy, Linton become a fierce opponent of abortion when David Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress’s (CMP) revealed their undercover investigation into Planned Parenthood’s procurement and sail of aborted baby parts for profit.
