Speaking in tongues is a practice that has been deemed dead by some quarters in the Christian community. While I have nothing against brothers and sisters of Cessationist faith, I do want to make a compelling case that will hopefully make us realise that the gift of tongues is not just alive today but even available to all as well.

The first time the gift of tongues appeared was on the day of Pentecost when the first followers of Jesus experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It was a sign of power and a means by which people would intercede. The most compelling proof that the gift of tongues is a power people can tap into today is the function that it still serves.
