Earthquake swarm strikes Tenerife, Possible Prelude to another Teide volcano eruption

The next Teide volcanic eruption is maybe just ahead! A swarm of more than 90 minor earthquakes hit the Teide volcano, Tenerife on Sunday, October 2, 2016. A this could announce the next big eruption in the Canaries.

The tremors hit the East flank of the Teide volcano on the island of Tenerife. The series of more than 90 earthquakes streched over 11 hours from 7am to 6pm. The epicenter of the vast majority of these minor quakes – M0.5 to M1.6 – was situated between 8 to 14km. READ MORE
