Inked words glisten from the glossed magazine pages. Tiny storefronts have set up shop on local street corners. Even the most basic pick-up line reeks of Ezekiel’s warnings: Do not trust those who claim to predict the future. But why? A reader asked evangelist Billy Graham: If God knows what’s going to happen in the future, why doesn’t He go ahead and tell us? I’ve tried astrology and things like that so I could discover the future, but I no longer think they can be trusted. Is God any better?
Graham answered:
I’m thankful you finally came to the conclusion that astrology and similar practices aren’t reliable guides to the future. The prophet Ezekiel bluntly said concerning those who claimed to know the future, “Their visions are false and their divinations a lie” (Ezek. 13:6). Has God promised to reveal the future to us? No, not in the detailed way fortunetellers falsely claim to do—and for good reason. For one thing, if we knew exactly what was going to happen to us each day, we wouldn’t have to trust God for our future—or even to pray. But we don’t know—and that ought to send us to our knees every day to ask for His guidance and protection. Part of the prayer Jesus taught His disciples includes these words: “Give us this day our daily bread…. deliver us from evil” (Matthew 6:11, 13). But God hasn’t left us in the dark concerning the future! The future is in God’s hands—and some day He will intervene to bring an end to all the evils and injustices of this world. This will happen when Christ comes again in glory to establish His perfect kingdom of righteousness. READ MORE
You should not put a book of the Biible and a crystal ball in the same sentence. That is shame and not worthy. Much more is a picture of it.
ELOHIM DID tell us about the future, but not in a language everyone will understand. He told/showed Daniel/Nebuchadnezzar and John (Revelations) to write down the kingdoms that follows after Nebuchadnezzar in symbolic terms until the current one. The manner in which Yahweh did it was in summary, the details thereof we realize them after they come to pass. He did it, to show us that He loves us and we should not be in the dark or surprised when those things come to pass. Our duty was to search the Scripture and align the time frames with those Scriptures to confirm the prophecies. But, alas, the devil came with things (PRIDE, EGO, GREED, LUST etc.) to keep our minds from the Scripture and concentrate on worldly things so that we miss the messages that were clearly delivered by prophets of old, of the things that will occur today. Daniel was written about 2700 years ago, Revelations about 1900 years ago. The key to unlock the mysteries has always been in the Bible. A day is an equivalent of an earthly year (Lunar cycle) is written in the Bible (Ezekiel 4: 6; Numbers 14: 34). A beast/dragon is a government/king/emperor/the ruling power of that particular day (Daniel 7:17). Then from these explanations, reading about beasts and their days of power becomes easy, using the history which is written in our worldly books. Let us not be lazy to search Scripture to know the message of LOVE from our Creator. Proverbs 25:2 “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter.” (KJV)
