Russia is definitely not exempt from large sinkholes and one report coming from this region is giving evidence of such. A large 15 meters wide by 25 meters hole suddenly appeared in the karstic ground of Samara, Russia. Just how

the ground exactly collapsed is still unknown, but it was discovered by a farmer while cleaning a field on July 17, 2016. The edges of the sinkhole are covered with cracks. More than likely the hole will continue to expand in the next future.
