At 7:11am this morning, Iceland’s Bárðarbunga volcano was hit by a magnitude 4.4 tremor – the largest since the volcano last stopped erupting in February 2015.

It was followed by twenty aftershocks, with seismic activity dying down after 7:45am, according to the Icelandic Met Office. The IMO will be monitoring the situation and informing people of any further activity. READ MORE
