World renowned evangelist Billy Graham revealed what he thinks is the greatest spiritual mistake people often make. Graham wrote in a May 2 post for his Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s website that when it comes to spending your life in eternity, your good acts are not enough to God.

This is because according to the Bible, the only way we could reach God’s standard of goodness is by being completely perfect. Graham cites Habakkuk 1:13, which reads: “Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing.”

Therefore, it is a “mistake” for Christians to think their goodness alone will get them into heaven, Graham writes. “The greatest mistake anyone can ever make is to assume that they are good enough to go to Heaven. And yet countless people make this mistake every day, thinking their good deeds will somehow outweigh their bad deeds and make them eligible for Heaven,” the evangelical preacher says. “God is absolutely holy and perfect, and even one sin—just one—would be enough to banish us from His presence.” READ MORE
