The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says there is no tsunami threat to Hawai’i following a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred near the Northern East Pacific Rise. According to PTWC, the earthquake occurred Thursday at 3:34 p.m. Hawai’i time.

United States Geological Survey officials say the earthquake was located 368.5 miles east of Clipperton Island, France; 527.5 miles south-southwest of Acapulco de Juarez, Mexico; 527.5 miles south-southwest of Tecpan de Galeana, Mexico; 530.7 miles south-southwest of Petatlan, Mexico; and 706.5 miles south-southwest of Mexico City, Mexico.
