Another large earthquake has struck New Zealand. A sizable M6.2 earthquake occurred just South of the Island nation, and comes just a day after a damaging M5.8 struck near Christchurch, NZ. Over the past 2 weeks, we have now seen FOUR noteworthy earthquakes surrounding New Zealand. This should be something that stands out in light of what occurred in February 2011 (5 years ago). In 2011, we saw a series of large earthquakes occur in the region around New Zealand, culminating in a M6.2 which struck Christchurch on February 22, 2011. Just a few weeks later, on March 11th, 2011 – the Japan M9.0 mega-quake occurred, which killed tens of thousands of people.
