Electricité de France (EDF), the state-owned operator of France’s 58 nuclear reactors across 19 sites, has filed a legal complaint against persons unknown following the flights over seven sites. Sparking fears that the country’s reactors are unsafe from airborne attack, none of the drones were intercepted and their origins remain a mystery. It is forbidden to enter airspace within a five kilometre perimeter around nuclear sites or to fly over them at an altitude of below 1,000 metres.
