This system will continue to push to the east and will impact the mid-Atlantic and New England on Tuesday. Nearly 1,550 flights were canceled nationally Monday, mainly out of the Chicago O’Hare and Midway airports, St. Louis and Minneapolis St. Paul. Airway and roadway travel will remain concerns in throughout the mid-Atlantic and Northeast as snow and ice will make for slick conditions. Up to 6 inches of snow are possible for many major cities, including Detroit and Pittsburgh. As of Monday evening, Chicago received an average of 4 to 5 inches, however some regions around the city had one or two more.
